This is a permanent and pensionable post with 39 hours at Our Lady’s Children’s Hospital, Crumlin, Dublin 12 on a Type A Contract. This post will provide leadership to the Paediatric Consultation Liaison Psychiatry (PCLP) Department at Our Lady’s Children’s Hospital, Crumlin. This is a very exciting time to be joining as Consultant to the PCLP Department as the service plans for a move to a new purpose built paediatric hospital with a range of Psychiatry provision.
The PCLP Department at Our Lady’s Children’s Hospital, Crumlin is a vibrant and expanding busy clinical department with an active teaching and research role. Specialty services are provided to paediatric patients, children with eating disorders and those presenting through the Emergency Department, typically with DSH. New services are developing to allow for the management of the more complex cases attending the hospital i.e. Gender Dysphoria, Infant Psychiatry and rare genetic disorders. The newly appointed consultant will join the existing staff in providing this service and help develop new services in line with the plans for the new National Paediatric Hospital. 
Applicants must be registered as a specialist in the Specialist Division of the Medical Practitioners maintained by the Medical Council in Ireland in the specialty of Child and Adolescent Psychiatry. Clinical Experience in the area of paediatric liaison psychiatry is important.

This service provides mental health services to a population of 135,000. The Child and Adolescent Mental Health Service comprise 2 teams, one based in St. Davnet’s Campus, Monaghan and one based on Connolly Street, Cavan Town. Approval has been granted for a third Consultant post for Child and Adult Mental Health Service and it is hoped to fill that post on a  permanent basis in the near future. In the interim the plan is to recruit a locum who would be expected to work across both teams. The Monaghan Team has 8.85 multi-disciplinary team members and the Cavan Team has 8 members.
