ARTEMIS is a Creative Europe Project conceived through collaboration between organisations active in youth engagement, mental health and cultural innovation. Across Europe, adolescent mental wellbeing is under growing pressure. Anxiety, depression, trauma-related symptoms and emotional distress are affecting an increasing number of young people aged 13–18.
Despite this reality, access to youth-friendly, inclusive and stigma-free support remains fragmented. Cultural participation and artistic expression – proven to foster resilience and emotional regulation – are still underutilised in structured mental health support systems. ARTEMIS responds to this gap.
The project draws inspiration from interdisciplinary research, including WHO findings on the role of arts in health, recognising creative expression as a powerful tool for: emotional regulation, trauma processing, identity formation, peer connection and social inclusion.
