Dr Alexis Revet is a child and adolescent psychiatrist working in Toulouse, France, in the field of child trauma and complicated grief. He is also a PhD student in epidemiology and pharmacoepidemiology (UMR 1027 Inserm-Toulouse III University) and has an expertise in child and adolescent psychopharmacology. Since 2017, he has been the junior advisor and coordinator of the annual meeting of the ESCAP Research Academy. He is deeply convinced that child and adolescent psychiatry is an exciting and stimulating choice for young physicians, yet requiring a broad skill set to be a competent child and adolescent psychiatrist. In his view, it is precisely why the ESCAP Research Academy is an important initiative, which could help to foster the importance of clinician-scientist to increase the involvement of this young medical specialty in its own future academic development.
