The ESCAP international congress has been held every two years since 2007. The Budapest congress in 2009 was the first of its kind to be jointly organised by a host ESCAP member country and the ESCAP board.
The first congress that founded the society took place in 1960 in Paris. Since then, ESCAP has hosted 19 international congresses in various countries throughout Europe.
